Neurointegrative Therapy

Neurointegrative Therapy is an adjunct treatment strategy for patients experiencing health issues including migraines, POTS, PTSD, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, chronic constipation, stroke syndrome, cardiac arrhythmias, hypertension, depression, arthritis, urinary incontinence, low libido, chronic anxiety, insomnia, pregnancy, adrenal fatigue, menstrual disorders, vasomotor symptoms, osteoporosis and chronic pain.

Sometimes, there is a disconnect between our physical body, nervous system and mind which can result in issues with mood, behavior, relaxation, vascular tone, sleep, digestion and pain response that needs to become balanced. Neurointegrative therapy helps to restore whole body homeostasis using a combination of techniques including neurokinetics, polyvagal theory and visceral sensation techniques. As a result, the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health realms become balanced.

Neurokinetic Therapy examines the neurophysiology connection between the brain, spinal cord and muscles. It evaluates how the body adapts to movement and helps rewire faulty pathways. It is effective for movement, vestibular and pain disorders.

Polyvagal Therapy is utilized to restore balance within the body through techniques that support the vagus nerve, facilitate emotional regulation, restore interpersonal connectedness and regulate the autonomic nervous system. Patients who are in “fight or flight” also known as “survival mode” benefit from engaging the vagus nerve through this type of therapy.

Each initial therapy session involves a complete review of health history, interrogative discussion about health status and goals, a body scan and a thorough breath assessment. As the focus of our practice tis to evaluate the whole self, our practitioner is able to work in collaboration with other health care providers to determine the most appropriate therapy.

All sessions are privately held in our office or can be performed remotely at a patient’s request.
